Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972. He retired as the Director of Business Development for a telecom consulting firm based in New York City due to blindness caused by Retinitus Pigmentosa..
William Huber, Director and Vice Chair
Bill’s career of over 35 years focused on designing food service facilities for multiplex movie theaters. He lives near San Francisco with his wife Kelly. They have 3 adult children. He also operates the website www.audiblesight.com which is devoted to enabling those with vision impairment to use the iPhone to stay engaged in the world around them .
Anthony J (Tony) Knapke, Director and Secretary/Treasurer
Tony is a retired systems engineer, having spent 35 years with computer companies such as Tandem, Compaq and HP. He lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Debra, and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
Kevin Beus, Director
Kevin served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1989, when he started his own construction company. At that time he also sponsored a Sub For Santa program in Ogden, Utah. He retired after suffering a stroke and blindness caused by Behcet’s disease. Kevin participates in many VA Recreation Therapy programs such as rock climbing , Winter Sports Clinic, X-country skiing, Horses for Heroes Therapy, and other programs.
Jane Grau, Director
With a background in writing and graphics, Jane designs the website and creates visuals for Jim’s outreach activities.
